My name is Kaitlyn Sharkey and I am from Rockland County, New York. I'm still 17 unfortunately, but I am eagerly awaiting my 18th birthday in November :) As of right now, my major at URI is Early Childhood Education. I love little kids and I have worked with them since I was a freshman in high school when I got my first job at a daycare. There is nothing I love more than hanging out with my little brother Joseph. I get all my inspiration from him and you will probably see him come up in a lot of my writing. He is autistic and there isn't anything I wouldn't do for him. As of right now, he is the one I miss the most while being away from home in Rhode Island. In addition to my family, I have a dog named Skip (I know, real original). In high school, I was the captain of my varsity cheerleading team. I loved it and made so many friends I know I'll keep forever. I enjoy making new friends, reading and dancing. I am crazy when I'm dancing with my friends, it is my favorite thing to do! I hope to do my best while in Rhode Island, graduate with honors and move on to become an excellent pre-school teacher!!
